Parting Glass Racing - Class of 2018
Freud x Isabel Away
This has to be one of the most exciting horses we have ever introduced into the Parting Glass Racing stable. This filly by Freud (one of the most consistent racehorse stallions in the country) comes from a family who's dam has produced one high class New York stakes caliber competitor after another.
Isabel Away who is by the great race horse Skip Away has four offspring all currently running in New York stakes and high caliber allowance company. Her current stake horse, Magagone, has updated earnings of over $500,000. He continues to be competitive in stakes company at Saratoga and beautiful Belmont Park. Birchwood Road, also a current high class NY earner with updated earnings topping $250,000. The big news is we have a very exciting new prospect as the current two-year-old Jaye Jaye who in his first start for BIll Mott won very impressively. After a slow start and trailing the field swung 3 wide and drew off to win by an expanding 3 lengths. If Jaye Jaye continues to show this brilliance and domination, he may be headed to the classics next spring according to the Hall of Fame Conditioner.
Freud x Plinking
It's pretty cool when you can look at a pedigree and the potential for racing excitement jumps right off the page. Holy Moly! Was this mare Plinking meant to be bred to Freud, the the most magnificent stallion in NY state or what?
With seven foals to race, and six winners - three of the best winners are full siblings to this filly, including a full sister who is still running and has amassed earnings just shy of $300,000 - what more could you want?
Proud Citizen x Always Belong
One of my favorite race horse sires is Proud Citizen. He gets nothing but gritty determined race horses who know how to get to the wire first. Add to that a brilliant female family with 100% winners from starters ( 8 winners from 8 starters) with an unbelievable 40% of stake horses from starters this Proud Citizen filly out of the stakes mare Always Belong is destined to be high class NY winner.
As you can see this is a very precocious family with many of the top class race horses winning stake races as two-year-olds. Her half-sister Alwaysinstilettos won the very competitive and very rich two-year-old stake; The Lady Fingers in her second start. She went on to amass earnings of over $200,000 in her two-year-old year and retired sound. With horses like Diamond District who continued his winning ways as an eight-year-old with the earnings of over $300,000 you can see there's quite a bit of soundness in this family which bodes well for earning potential moving forward.

Let's Dance Some Mo, LLC
In any sport the goal is to get to the Big Dance! The World Series, the Super Bowl, the Stanley Cup, the NBA championship, the Final Four. For us, in the thoroughbred industry, it's Saratoga, the Breeders' Cup, the Dubai Classic and The Royal Ascot. So "Let's Dance Some Mo" and get you there! We've recently acquired another spectacular filly by super sire: Uncle Mo. Probably the most prolific sire of our generation, he is not just setting records as a proponent contributor to the breed, but is breaking records as his offspring continue to wow us on the race track; any race track and every race track throughout this big exciting Racing nation of ours. No distance, surface or track condition seem to pose any problems for the offspring of this already great Stallion!
La Manche, LLC
La Manche, named after his sire English Channel has already got a lot of run in him. His dad could really run, and was one of the top turf horses - not only in this country, but in the world, earning over $5,000,000 in winnings. Channel could run on the lead, come off the pace, be blistering along, and still open up and win going away. He has won so many Grade ones that it is impossible to mention them all here.
English Channel's offspring can also really run. We've got one of them named Cliffs of Dover, La Manche's full brother, who is turning into a monster as we speak. So strong is he that we have had trouble finding jockeys that can handle his speed and strength; so competitive is he that he won going away at 6/1 odds at Saratoga and beat all the fancy trainers' entries Want to know the best part? He is just getting started.
Ma Mo, LLC
Not since the great sire, Danzig, has a horse emerged to have had such a monumental start as a sire. The prolific Uncle Mo has had 21 stakes winners in his first crop, - including the two-year-old champion and Kentucky Derby winner, Nyquist - along with numerous competitive high class runners, there hasn't been a sire quite like Mo in generations.
The weekly racing calendar is not only chock full of graded stakes winners, but there is an extremely high percentage of horses that break their maiden their first time out. These horses rise through the ranks to eventually become serious contenders in competitive stakes races.
Adorable Song, LLC
She is so beautiful we had to put "Adorable" in her name. She moves so smoothly, its almost like she is singing along - so we added "Song"! Adorable Song will make you sing and dance all the way to the windows. I love Freud and have owned many nice ones, but I have to say this filly is the most beautiful Freud I have ever seen. Freud is a phenomenal sire. He gets race horses out of all kinds of mares, from all different kinds of female families. His offspring consistently rises above their siblings and he can turn a non producer into a contender.
In the case of this family of runners, the competition is fierce. Her mother Andora Springs is another 100% producer with all foals to race accomplished winners and six figure earners. Soundness runs in the family with her siblings still running and earning at 6. She traces from the fabulous Storm Cat dynasty and a female family with the Seattle Slew broodmare sire line. With this combination of blood brewing anything can happen!
Jimmy Jazz, LLC
Sired by one of the top earning, most accomplished race horses in modern times; English Channel, and born out of a Saratoga stakes producer, this "Jazzy" colt has the potential to be a top race horse in New York.
Jimmy's Father, English Channel, continues to be a consistent sire of Gr1 stakes winners on dirt and turf. His offspring embody the class and stamina of their sire, giving us a leg up on the competition with this magnificent animal. One time we ran against English Channel and there was no catching that running machine! The quicker the pace went, the faster the horse ran. When we thought his speed was drawing back, he kicked it into overdrive and took off. It was an amazing display of stamina and speed - which is what champions are made of - and champions make great sires!
Parting Glass Racing Class of 2016
Nehantic Kat, LLC
Years ago we bought this beautiful bay filly: A BIG tall rangy thing who covered a lot of ground and is sweet as can be. Her name is Nehantic Kat and she won first time out at Saratoga and then she went down to Belmont and won AGAIN. The next time she winsat The Spa it's in an open $99,000 allowance race against some real nice open fillies. Her next start at The Spa she moves up into stakes company with a very close 4th by 2 lengths for all the money in the Mollie Wilmott. She continues her stakes caliber performance consecutively placing in the Ticonderoga and The Mount Vernon before winning the Sabillina again at Beautiful Belmont Park! Having elevated herself to consistent 90+ beyer numbers, she is now ready for her next test in the Yaddo at The Spa, which she wins convincingly with ease. Pulling off the rail, she shoots past the field galloping out after the wire. She continues to move up in class placing in the Gr 3 Very One Stake at Gulfstream Park, getting beaten 3/4s of a length to Changing Skies. The Gr3 Orchid at Keeneland is her next start getting beat 3/4s of a length for all the money and then running 2nd in the Gr2 The Sheepsheads Bay back at Beautiful Belmont Park.
A classy filly throughout her career ending up with a record of 21 starts, 6 wins (3 of them at Saratoga), 4 seconds and 5 thirds with earnings of $394,000. She finished up with a lifetime high 93 beyer. Now that’s a race mare. In the horse business when you have a classy race mare like the one I just described; class usually begets class. It’s a genetic thing. The filly you are looking at is her gorgeous big tall, bay, stands over a lot of ground (just like her mother) daughter by Mineshaft!
When you buy a very well bred filly with live horses running and winning in the pedigree it's just like buying a stock at the right time, before you know it there’s some positive news in the company and your investment starts to soar in value!
In this case the stock you are buying is livestock or bloodstock, as we refer to it in the horse racing game. In this case it is a very well bred filly by Candy Ride, the sire of Shared Belief, named Satisfy! Candy Ride has sired so many good horses. In this case we have a mare that just gets high class race horses one after one. Satisfy’s mum; AveryMerryMoment is by Distorted Humor who is a perennial leading sire and now shows legitimate signs of being a top broodmare sire. Her first foal Sanctify set a new course record at Belmont going 6 furlongs in 108 flat and continues to climb up the ladder and will be a serious contender at the Stake level in no time. With an impressive win at Saratoga going a mile and a 1/16th in 139 and change, and being not far off from a track record there, he has shown class and competitiveness with each start. His record of 11 starts, 3 wins, 3 seconds and 2 thirds with earnings fast approaching $200,000 this horse is on the cusp of running and winning a stake race.
His little brother Rectify is also a very consistent horse with, again, an impressive win at the Spa in his first year of racing, is developing into a very nice horse with loads of upside and winning potential. So this filly has some very talented siblings who will serve to increase the value of this already explosive pedigree.
A brand new stake horse just popped up in the second dam in Melodic, who as a 2yo won at first asking at Saratoga then came back in her second start and won the $150,000 Joseph A Gimma stake at Belmont. More class, more added value.
Stormy Atlantic, LLC
Another great colt by the Big Giant Stormy Atlantic. There aren’t too many sires with his width and breadth. He stands tall, big and solid like many of his offspring who come bounding down the lane like runaway freight trains! We just happen to have on our team the man who trained one of Stormy Atlantic’s greatest runners: Get Stormy, who is also one of Stormy Atlantic’s highest earners with $1,606,812 to his credit. His name is Tom Bush and he has seen this beautiful colt and is dying to get his hands on him. This shiny chestnut’s mother, Gumption, was a very classy race mare with earnings of over $200,000 running in very tough company. A beautiful and strong specimen, she fetched $200,000 as a yearling and then showed her class and speed on the racetrack by scoring a 90+ beyer going 3/4s in 108.4 and winning back to back races at 6 furlongs then a mile and 1/16th. This is an A+ nick and it shows in how well balanced and proportioned this athletic colt is. And what a mind. This horse is already getting high praise from all who have handled him and galloped him. He is what we like to call a push button horse with the ability to be patient until it is time to GO and go he does!
Nailah - Princess of the Nile
You’d have to be from another planet not to know who American Pharaoh is. He’s a once in a lifetime horse, a horse of the ages, a horse that will go down in history as one of the most talented of his generation. His sire: Pioneer Of The Nile is quickly making a huge splash on the breeding scene. He is a brilliant son of Empire Maker and looks to be one of the top sires in America moving forward. And for your information, Win Star Farm just raised his 2016 Season fee to $125,000. That sort of says it all. We got lucky enough to purchase a magnificent daughter of this Champion Sire and she definitely looks the part.
Who doesn't like a beautiful gray horse? We've got one of the prettiest gray fillies you'll ever lay your eyes on and boy is she fast! If the name Silver Streak was available, it would be the name tag on this halter. She's big, she's powerful, and she's by Freud; on of the best sires to stand in New York in the history of the rich New York breeding program! This filly descends from a very deep New York running female family.
